Pixar is an animation studio that specializes in computer animation. It started as part of the computer division of Lucasfilm. The credits for the John Lasseter's short cartoon released during the Lucasfilm era named this division of Lucasfilm as the "Lucasfilm Computer Graphics Project". They once shared their offices (and occasionally their talent) with another of my favorites, Lucasfilm Games (which later became LucasArts).

Steve Jobs, co-founder of Apple, purchased the Lucasfilm Computer Graphics Project from George Lucas and renamed it Pixar.

I love all of the Pixar movies, and I'm not quite sure which is my favorite. I also love the Pixar short films, which are as much of an event as the movies for me and my mom. We can't be late when we go to the theater to see a Pixar movie, as we definitely don't want to miss the short! :)
