The Transgender Day of Remembrance is a day that remembers the transgender people (as well as non-transgender who were killed in transgender hate crimes) who were killed because of ignorance, hate, and prejudice.

Way too many transgender people die every year, and sadly the Transgender Day of Remembrance is rarely covered by any media outlets. More areas hold remembrances each year though, so hopefully in time the number of hate crimes will decrease drastically.
